Hot Wire Privacy Policy

The company Cherry Pub LLP, whose registered office is located at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, England, WC2H 9JQ, with the Company ID number OC431055 (hereinafter referred to as "Cherry Pub" or "we") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy as part of your use of the website www.gtmapp.com (the "website"), the mobile application for iPhone and Android ("Hot Wire", or "App"), the Hot Wire web player that players open in their browser to join a game (the "web player"), and other products and services (the website, the mobile application, the web player and other products and services are collectively called hereafter "products").

Protecting your privacy is really important to us. Accordingly, we're providing this Privacy Policy to explain our practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of information that we process in the course of our business, including information we receive through our Services and other online or offline offerings. This Privacy Policy doesn't apply to any third-party websites, services or applications, even if they are accessible through our Services. This Privacy Policy is intended to meet requirements globally, including those in North America, Europe, APAC, and other jurisdictions.

Hot Wire is a party game played together in the same room. One player (the "host") runs the game on the App, and the other players join on their own phones through the web player by scanning a QR code or opening a link. We have designed Hot Wire to work with as little personal information as possible: there are no user accounts, no logins, no email addresses, no advertising and no tracking.

INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT FROM YOU

We may collect and process the following information about you:

• Player names. The name or nickname that each player types to take part in a game, and the avatar they pick. Players choose these themselves; they do not need to be real names.
• Game information. The room code, the moves made during a game (for example which wire was cut, votes and buzzes), scores and game settings.
• Anonymous identifiers. A random identifier created for the App and for each web player so that a device can join and rejoin a game. It is not linked to your name, email address or phone number.
• Subscription information. Whether the host has an active Hot Wire Pro subscription or free trial, the product purchased, and the transaction details that Apple (on iPhone) or Google Play (on Android) provides to confirm it.
• Device information such as operating system version, device type, app version, language, country or region, and system performance information.

This app does not collect or process credit or debit card ("Payment Card") information. Apple (on iPhone) or Google Play (on Android) collects Payment Card information with respect to in-app purchases made through the App. Apple or Google generally provides us with some limited information related to your purchase, such as a transaction identifier, the product purchased, the purchase date and the country of the App Store or Google Play account, but never your name, email address or card details.

Clues in Hot Wire are spoken out loud in the room. The App and the web player do not use the microphone and do not record what players say. On iPhone, if the host chooses to scan a QR code to join a game, the App uses the device camera only to read the code; no photo or video is taken or stored. The Android App does not use the camera.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECURITY

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received. If you have any questions about the security of your personal information, you can contact us at app@greentomatomedia.com. Except as described under the "Disclosure of Your Information" section below, we do not provide your personal information to any third party without your specific consent, as defined by applicable law.

NEWSLETTERS OR OTHER ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

Hot Wire does not ask for your email address and does not send newsletters or promotional emails. If you contact us by email, we will use your email address only to answer your message. If we offer push notifications in the future, they will only be sent with your permission, and you may turn them off at the device level.

TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

Hot Wire does not use advertising, retargeting or cross-app tracking, and does not use cookies or trackers for advertising purposes. We do not share information with advertising platforms such as Facebook or Google for advertising purposes. We currently do not respond to do-not-track signals because we do not track you.

The web player uses your browser's local storage (such as HTML5 local storage) only to remember your anonymous player identifier, so that you can rejoin a game if your phone locks or your connection drops. Various browsers offer their own management tools for removing local storage.

MOBILE ANALYTICS

Hot Wire does not currently use third-party mobile analytics software. Apple and Google may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics (such as the number of installs and crash reports from users who have chosen to share them with developers). If we add analytics in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before doing so.

LOG FILES

As true of most online services, our service providers gather certain information automatically and store it in log files when the App or the web player connects to them. This information may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, operating system, and date/time stamp. These logs are used to keep the service running, secure and fast, and are kept for a limited period by our service providers.

WHERE WE STORE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

On your device. The App stores player names and avatars you have used before, your past game results and your game settings on your device only, so that the next game is quicker to set up. This information is not sent to us. It is deleted when you delete the App.

During a game. To let the players' phones play together, the game room (the room code, the player names and avatars, and the moves made in the game) is synchronised through Google Firebase Realtime Database, using Firebase anonymous authentication. This information is stored on Google Cloud servers located in Belgium, in the European Union. Game rooms are deleted when the host ends the game or leaves, and any room left behind is deleted automatically within 24 hours.

Subscriptions. Subscription status and purchase information are processed by Apple (on iPhone) or Google Play (on Android) and by our subscription management provider, Adapty, which stores them on its secure servers. Any payment transactions are handled and encrypted by Apple or Google; all payment information is stored with Apple or Google and is never stored on the app's servers.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to the Products; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorized access.

SINGLE SIGN-ON

Hot Wire does not offer or use sign-in services such as Facebook Connect, Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google or an Open ID provider. No login is needed to host or to join a game.

ACCESS TO AND DELETION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Upon request, the app will provide you with information about whether we hold, or process on behalf of a third party, any of your personal information. To request this information, please email app@greentomatomedia.com. Because Hot Wire has no user accounts, we may ask you for information that helps us find the data concerned (for example, the date of a purchase, or the anonymous identifier shown in the App's settings). To request the deletion of your personal data that we have on file please email us at app@greentomatomedia.com. Upon request, the app will permanently and irrevocably anonymize your data such that it can never be reconstructed to identify you as an individual. We will respond to your request in a reasonable timeframe.

You can also delete the information stored on your device at any time by deleting the App, or, for the web player, by clearing your browser's website data. Game rooms are deleted automatically as described above.

USES MADE OF THE INFORMATION

We use information held about you in the following ways:

• To run the game: to create a room, let players join it, show each player's name to the other players in the same game, and keep every phone in the game up to date.
• To ensure that content provided by the Products is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your device.
• To check whether the host has an active Hot Wire Pro subscription or free trial, and to unlock the content packs included in it.
• To carry out our obligations arising from any agreements entered between you and us.
• To provide you with customer service communications when you contact us.
• To notify you about changes to the Products.
• To understand your broad, non-specific geographic location (such as country) in order to show the correct price and language.
• To keep the Products secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build profiles about you.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR INFORMATION

We may disclose your personal information to third parties as follows:

• Other players in your game. Your player name and avatar, and your moves in the game, are shown to the other players in the same game.
• Service providers. If the app's service providers require this information to provide services to the app. The app requires each of its service providers to agree to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal information. Our service providers are: Google (Firebase Realtime Database and Firebase Authentication, to run live game rooms), Adapty (subscription management), Apple (App Store purchases and app distribution on iPhone) and Google (Google Play purchases and app distribution on Android).
• In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
• If the app or substantially all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal information held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets.
• If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation such as to comply with a subpoena, bankruptcy proceedings, similar legal process, or in order to enforce or apply our agreements with you; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the app, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT FOR PROCESSING ACTIVITIES

To the extent that you have provided appropriate consent under applicable law to certain processing activities, such consent can be withdrawn at any time by emailing app@greentomatomedia.com. On iPhone, you can also withdraw camera access for the App at any time in your device settings.

LINKS TO THIRD PARTY SITES

The Products may, from time to time, contain links to third-party websites, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you follow a link to any of these external websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these websites or their policies. Please check these policies before you submit any personal information to these external websites.

SOCIAL MEDIA WIDGETS

Hot Wire does not include social media features or widgets such as the Facebook Like button. If you share a game invitation link through another app (for example a messaging app), your use of that app is governed by the privacy statement of the company providing it.

USE OF HOT WIRE BY MINORS

You must be 18 years of age, or the age of majority in your province, territory or country, to host games with the App or to purchase a subscription. Individuals under the age of 18, or the applicable age of majority, may utilize the Products only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, by joining a game hosted by an adult, and otherwise subject to our Terms and Conditions. Content packs marked 16+ should only be played when every player is at least 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required by the law of their country) beyond the player name typed into a game, which is deleted with the game room. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at app@greentomatomedia.com and we will delete it.

CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our information practices. If we make any material changes we will notify you by In-Product message or by means of a notice in the Products prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
